Early Life

His older brother sacrificed his own dreams of playing football to support his family and allow Darwin to pursue his.

He progressed through the youth academy of the famous Uruguayan club Peñarol. A serious knee injury almost ended Darwin’s professional journey before it began, as he underwent two separate surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation. Outside of a few setbacks, Darwin made a remarkable recovery, returning stronger and as a more developed player. Eventually, he worked his way back up in the sport as well.
