Since the acquisition of Chelsea Football Club by Roman Abramovich in 2003 the club has seen what may be the most dramatic and successful turnarounds in football history. We went from consistent silver service to very regular managerial changes which was a see-saw ride for the team.

1. José Mourinho (2004–2007, 2013–2015
José Mourinho is the greatest in Chelsea’s history. In two separate spells at the club, he won three Premier League titles also adding to that a couple of FA and League Cups. He brought in a level of tactical acumen and leadership whichtransformed Chelsea’s success at home in the mid-2000s.
2. Thomas Tuchel (2021–2022).
Tuchel came in at a time of change and right away he delivered European success which we saw in the 2021 Champions League victory. Also, his tactical acumen and coolness under pressure helped turn the team around from the days of Frank Lampard.
3. Carlo Ancelotti 2009 2011.

Ancelotti put together Chelsea\’s first domestic double in the 2009-10 season also which included a record 103 goals in the Premier League. He had an elegant style of play and a player-friendly approach which was very well received by all, although the second season did not live up to expectations.
4. Antonio Conte (2016–2018)

6. Frank Lampard 2019 2021, 2023 interim.
As a club legend, Lampard took over during a transfer ban and also promoted young talent which included Mason Mount and Reece James. Though at times his tactical skills were questioned his bond to the club made his tenure a memorable one.
7. In 2009, 2015 2016 interim Guus Hiddink served.
Hiddink served as the caretaker at Chelsea. In 2009 he won the FA Cup and also brought in an element of stability. The second spell of his at the club was key in getting through a rough patch post-Mourinho’s exit.
8. Rafael Benítez 2012 2013 interim.
Unpopular with the fans because of his time at Liverpool, Benítez still took Chelsea to Europa League success and a third-place finish in the league. That which was a short-term job he did very well despite the criticism.
9. Luiz Felipe Scolari 2008 2009.
Scolari’s stay at Stamford Bridge was brief. While he did well to start with results let us down mid-way which led to his go. However, what he did to introduce skill into Chelsea’s play style was a plus.
10. Roberto Di Matteo 2012.
In 2012 the Italian went on a fairytale run to guide Chelsea to their first ever UEFA Champions League and FA Cup success as interim manager. Though he was let go a few months later that run is still a part of the club’s history.
11. Graham Potter (2022–2023).
Hired with a far-off plan, Potter did in under the stress of high expectations and a large team. Although he showed out of the park in terms of tactics and man management what followed was poor results.
12. André Villas-Boas (2011-2012).

Dubbed the new Mourinho, Villas-Boas did not live up to the billing and lost the dressing room very soon. But, his arrival marked Chelsea’s move toward a more youth-based project.
13.Avram Grant (2007–2008)
Grant brought Chelsea to their first Champions League final in ’08 which they lost on penalties. Although he didn’t win many trophies under him, what he did do was improve with his tactical changes post-Mourinho.
14. Claudio Ranieri (2000 2004).
Although he did not bring in any of the Abramovich players, Ranieri served as the transition into the new era. He put in place the base which which which which which eventually led to Mougey’s (Mourinho’s) success and also built thatstrong core during his time at the club.
15. Enzo Maresca From 2025-present.
Recently into the role, Maresca is still settling in at Chelsea. At Leicester, he was known for his tactical skills which fans hope he brings to the table to bring stability and success which we have been out of for a while.
