Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana (born 18 July 1996 in Mumbai, Maharashtra) is one of India’s most celebrated female cricketers. Her height is around 5 ft 4 in and she is renowned for her classy left-hand batting and part-time right-arm medium-pace bowling.

Family & Childhood Background
Smriti was born to a Hindu Marwari family. Her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was a chemicals distributor and a district-level cricketer in Sangli; her mother, Smita, is a housewife. Her other brother, Shravan, played district-level cricket before his career was diversified to serve as a bank manager. Smriti’s family shifted to Sangli at the age of two, where she had her secondary education and later studied at Chintaman Rao College of Commerce.

Inspired by seeing her brother play, she joined Maharashtra’s U‑15 cricket team at age nine and graduated from the U‑19 team at age eleven.

Cricket Journey
Smriti debuted for India both in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in April 2013, against Bangladesh at the age of 16. She then made her Test debut in August 2014, against England. As of mid-2025, she had played 97 ODIs, scoring a total of 4,209 runs with an average of 46.25, including 11 centuries, and 148 T20Is, scoring a total of 3,761 runs with an average of 29.38, including 30 half-centuries. She also scored 629 runs in 7 Tests, at a remarkable average of 57.18 and 2 centuries.

As the highest-paid player in the Women’s Premier League history, she leads the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. She led RCB to their first championship in 2024, hitting 300 runs in 10 games that season.
