The animated series of Japan which is also known as Shinchan has won the hearts of people all over the world. With its great humor, distinct animation style, and relatable characters the show is a hit with both kids and adults. From the manga which Yoshito Usui created the series is centered around the mischievous 5-year-old boy Shinnosuke Nohara and his daily misadventures. 1. Shinnosuke “Shinchan” Nohara
In the series which is centered around Shinchan, we see a five-year-old with a very mischievous and at times inappropriate sense of humor as well as very endearing mannerisms. At just five years of age, he acts out of maturity which in turn embarrasses his parents in public. Also known for his catch phrase โAe Masiโ and his dance moves which are very much a part of his character.
2. Misae Nohara
Misae is the mother of Shinchan. At home, she is a homemaker which she gives up of her own choice but which also gives her a hard time as she tries to deal with her sonโs naughtiness and at the same time keep the peace at home. Though she is strict at times what we see is also a very loving side to her as she scolds Shinchan for his bad behavior. Misaeโs role also includes that of a buffer between the humor of the show and the issue of a concerned parent.
3. Hiroshi Nohara
Hiroshi is the father of Shinchan and is a sales executive at a company. He is a kind hard hard-working man who at times is caught between Misae and Shinchan. Though tired from work he tries to put in quality time with the family and also supports Misae in dealing with their son.
4. Himawari Nohara
Himawari is the child of Shinchan. Although at a very young age, she does what adult characters do in the show has a fancy for fine jewelry and handsome males. Himawari is the cute also at times funny element in the series which also at times takes over with her over-the-top reactions.
5. Shiro
Shiro is Noharaโs dog. Very small, very fluffy, and much smarter than he looks. Also, the most sensible member of the family Shiro is very much a part of and has a very close bond with Shinchan. Also, it is the dog that mostly saves the day for Shinchan, or at other times provides a bit of a comic touch via his body language.
6. Nene Sakurada
Nene is a very close friend of Shinchan. She is sweet but has a short temper which is mostly out when her doll is messed with. Also, she is the groupโs little organizer in playtime and is known for what is called the โrabbit punch.
7. Kazama Toru
Kazama is the smart one in Shinchan’s circle of friends and aspires to run a successful business. He is serious and well-behaved, which often puts him at odds with Shinchanโs nonsense. At the same time though he is very much a part of their group and is the voice that brings perspective to the group.
8. Masao Sato
Masao is quiet and very much into his feelings at times which causes him to break down when things get to be too much. He is a very gentle soul and very into his emotions which in turn makes him a common target for Shinchanโs jokes. At the same time, Masao is very loyal to his friends and does his best to be a part of things.
9. Bo-chan
Bo-chen is also a part of Shinchanโs friend circle. He is reserved and speaks slowly which also goes with his runny nose. Although he may not look like it at first, Bo-chen at times is very perceptive and brings a different element to the group dynamics.
10. Principal Enchou
Principal Enchou is the head of what is for Shinchanโs kindergarten, Futaba Kindergarten. He is very kind and patient with the kids which including Shinchan. His bald head and goofy expressions endear him to the audience.
