Hansraj Raghuwanshi, born on July 18, 1992, in Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh, was raised in the Solan district. Coming from a poor family, his father, Prem Raghuwanshi, was a carpenter who also used to sing local folk songs, while his mother, Leela Raghuwanshi, took care of the family. Hansraj has a brother, Manjeet, who works in a bank, and a sister, Seema, who is a pharmacist.

Hansraj did his studies at MLSM College in Sundernagar and was never successful in his academics. He failed the B.Com second and finally dropped out. During this time, he would take on small jobs like serving in the canteen and delivering water jars to fund himself, as well as save money to record songs. With all these trials, he ensured that his passion for music was kept alive.

He began his professional musical career sometime around 2016, publishing devotional songs like “Baba Ji”, “Amma Ji” and “Baabul”. These songs earned him some recognition in the local scene, however, his song “Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari”, released in 2019, earned him fame across the national song circuit making him a household name by the lovely title “Baba Ji”. After that, he also sang his first Bollywood song- “Aadha Bhi Hai Zyada” in the movie Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas starring Karan Deol. Over the years, Hansraj became an icon for millions with his deep and melodious voice and music woven along the lines of spiritual themes. By the year 2025, he had released well over 50 devotional songs, among which are hits like “Shiv Kailasho Ke Vasi”, “Laagi Lagan Shankara”, and “Shiv Sama Rahe”. His trademark long dreadlocked hair and a performance style born out of a simple and honest backdrop are now the essence of his identity.

In 2025, Hansraj is 33 years of age and is a height of about 5 feet 10 inches (around 178 centimeters) with roots firmly entrenched in devotional music. After years of dating, he married his long-time partner, Komal Saklani, in 2023. His estimated net worth from direct earnings is somewhere around ₹30–50 lakh, but Mondan revenue from his YouTube channel with millions of subscribers and billions of views is said to go much higher, about $3.9 million.
