Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj, born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, on 23 March 1973, is a well-known martial artist, action choreographer, and motivational speaker. He will be 52 in 2025. He has been raised in a traditional Indian family where physical training and the revolutionary mindset formed the basis of family discussions. While his father was a wrestler and martial arts instructor, his mother was a crusader for social causes and education.

He started training in martial arts at the age of 2½ and has trained extensively in various Indian and international forms such as Kalaripayattu, judo, taekwondo, boxing, and Indian kushti. He holds the title of “Guruswamy” in Kalaripayattu and developed the MITTI System, a specialized combat system for commandos emphasizing close-quarter battle and counterinsurgency.

In 1999 he founded Mission Prahar, a project for the free training of women in self-defense, mostly in rural India. As of 2025, the Mission claims to have trained over 3.9 million women. He also founded SASS9, a promoter of advanced security, disaster response, and VIP protection solutions.

In Bollywood, he is best known for training Tiger Shroff, John Abraham, and Ajay Devgn for their roles. He worked as the action designer for Baaghi (2016) for realistic combat choreography and training routines.

Shifuji is around 5 feet 9 inches tall with a strong athletic build. He is married to Swarnim Aarti Shaurya Bhardwaj, a former IAS officer and current business executive; they have two children: a son and a daughter.

He is much respected for his discipline and patriotism but led to controversy regarding his military connections. An RTI by the Indian government confirmed that he was never engaged as a direct officer in the Indian armed forces, questioning the authenticity of his claims about either working with MARCOS (Marine Commandos).

However, he is still one of the most celebrated names in the field of martial arts and motivational training. His net worth is estimated to be around ₹60 crores (which is approximately US $7 million) by the year 2025, with earnings from films, corporate training, and private security. He is multi-lingual and continues to impact the youth through lectures, training, and nationalistic outreach programs.
