Richa began as a freelance anchor at DD National in 1996, presenting Ankur. She worked on Dainik Navjyoti at Ajmer during 1998-2001 and later worked on DD Sports and ETV Urdu. She worked as a radio jockey at AIR FM during 2001.

She worked with Zee News in 2002 and later hosted Channel 7/IBN7. Her show Zindagi Live, which she hosted from 2007 to 2013, received several awards including Best Talk Show by IndianTelevision.com, Indian Television Academy, and the Ladli Media Award by the UNFPA. Her show was re-launched on ETV in 2017 and again as a YouTube web series called Zindagi With Richa. She is a frequent name on 92.7 BIG FM hosting programs like Dilli Meri Jaan (2014–2016), which talked about civic matters of Delhi, and Big Heroes, which featured unseen heroes.

Richa is the Editor-in-Chief of School LIVE, a monthly magazine that makes students write, read, and express their opinions.
