Richa began as a freelance anchor at DD National in 1996, presenting Ankur. She worked on Dainik Navjyoti at Ajmer during 1998-2001 and later worked on DD Sports and ETV Urdu. She worked as a radio jockey at AIR FM during 2001.

She worked with Zee News in 2002 and later hosted Channel 7/IBN7.
