Biographical History & Early Life
Kim Christiansen was born in Arvada, Colorado, on November 27, 1960, and turns 64 in August 2025. She earned a journalism and mass communication degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in her class of 1984 and began working in her job as a news writer and associate producer at Denver’s KUSA–9News in the mid‑1980s.
She moved upward through the years to reporter, general-assignment correspondent, and a weekend evening news anchor for the network, anchoring main newscasts at 5 PM and 10 PM with Ward Lucas.

A seasoned television presenter of supreme quality, she herself has won several Heartland Regional Emmy Awards (allegedly seven or more) for her outstanding work in the fields of news reporting, investigative reporting, and writing.
She was awarded by the local Emmy chapter in 2012 for being inducted into the Silver Circle for her commitment to broadcasting for many years. She was awarded a National Community Service Emmy for her work on Buddy Check9, a breast cancer awareness campaign that she is a firm believer in since her sister’s diagnosis.
Private Life
Kim is married to Greg Feith, who used to be a Senior Air Safety Investigator for the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and is currently an NBC and MSNBC aviation analyst. They were reportedly married in 1997 and have a son named Tanner, born in January 2001. She and her sister Keri jointly promote awareness of breast cancer through Buddy Check9, an early detection initiative.
Increased Exposure
In late 2019, Christiansen was the winner of a competition to be the voice of automated gate train announcements at Denver International Airport, replacing former anchor Adele Arakawa. Air travelers get to hear her voice on a daily basis as they travel on trains at the airport.
