Age and Early Years
Ajit was born on 10th August 2005 in Pune, Thergaon district of Maharashtra. At the behest of his fellow students, Ajit shifted to kabaddi in class VII, having already undergone training in kickboxing from the age of five. His sporting ability was identified by his coach, and he began formal training in the SAI Sports Academy at Thergaon.
Youth Career and Transition
With his quickness and lower-body power, Ajit moved from a left-corner defender in his initial years of playing kabaddi to becoming a raider. PKL talent scouts discovered his great performances at the 2021 Junior Nationals (Haridwar) and the 2022 Khelo India Games. Although Gujarat Giants had signed him at first, he was acquired by U Mumba for Season 11 under the ‘New Young Player’ category due to age limitations.

Ajit made a huge difference in his first season in Pro Kabaddi with U Mumba:
He earned a Super 10 in his first match against Dabang Delhi K.C.
Raider of the Day recipient following a 19-point raid masterclass against Patna Pirates.
His outstanding performance was carried over in a thrilling game against the Haryana Steelers, where he scored 17 raid points.

Due to these stars, U Mumba qualified for the playoffs for the first time since Season 7. He is currently being called “the driving force behind U Mumba’s resurgence,” with a raid point ratio of 8.5 per game, a success rate of 64.01%, and eight Super 10s from 18 games. DD India also pointed to his tactical worth by explaining that he had initiated Super Raids in PKL Season 11, had attained fifth rank overall with 186 points, and had led U Mumba to the playoffs.
Honors & Acknowledgements
Typically regarded as the greatest Season 11 rookie raider, he was praised for rising to the challenge when experienced raiders were not. Ajit was highlighted by U Mumba coach Gholamreza Mazandarani as a “raider to watch,” and praised for his improvement and match IQ.
Work Ethic and Motivation
The tale of Ajit is one of hard work and determination, not of innate ability. A Sports Katta article tells us that even amidst his family problems (his father used to be a truck driver, now a fruit vendor), Ajit had a mix of different jobs—delivery job, wedding function job, and construction job—but kabaddi coaching remained his first choice. His debut in PKL was a result of his relentless passion and dedication to the game.
