The Indian Administrative Service( IAS) plays a central part in shaping India’s governance, and among its distinguished officers is IAS Roopa Mishra of the 2004 batch, Odisha skeleton and she holds the distinction of being Odisha’s first woman IAS crusher, earning recognition beforehand in her career for both merit and leadership. Early Life and Education

Roopa Mishra was born on June 9, 1977 into a family deeply connected with public service. Her father, Danda Nirodh Mishra, was himself an IAS officer, which exposed her to executive values from a youthful age. She completed her scale in Commerce( B.Com) from B.J.B. College, Bhubaneswar, followed by an MBA from Utkal University.

Before entering civil services, she gained different professional exposure by tutoring at the Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education and working as a TV anchor. This blend of operation education, academia and media experience strengthened her communication and leadership chops.

UPSC Success

Roopa Mishra achieved a major corner by getting the first woman from Odisha to secure top success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. She was also among the first wedded women in India to achieve this feat, frequently crediting her success to strong family support, particularly from her hubby Anshuman Tripathy, an IIM fellow.
