Early Life and Education Amberdeep Singh was born on 13 December 1979 in Abohar (Punjab), where he was brought up in an environment that nurtured education and creativity. He did his schooling from Government Senior Secondary School, Abohar, and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com.) from DAV College, Abohar.
His interest in the field of performing arts led him to earn a Master’s degree in Theatre and Television from Punjabi University, Patiala. In his teenage years, he was involved in wrestling, but after suffering a slipped disc injury, he had to quit. This unfortunate incident mushroomed into his interest in theatre and direction.
Amberdeep Singh is married to Amandeep Kaur and has two children, namely Lakashjeet Singh and Sehabjot Kaur.

After completing his postgraduate studies, Amberdeep moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Like countless other hopeful filmmakers, he encountered a series of hurdles prior to obtaining chances to collaborate with the crew of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s production. At this stage, he picked up essential skills as he assisted production in television and learned many things about filmmaking.
He became a dialogue and screenwriter of popular comedic television shows such as Comedy Circus and Comedy Nights with Kapil later on.
He shot to fame with Punjabi films after working on the script and writing for the movie Chak De Phatte, which came out in 2008.
