Jayashree is an Indian actress, voice actor, and former model who goes by the screen name Sudha Rani. Although she has done a few Telugu, Tulu, and Malayalam films, her main career has been in Kannada cinema.
“A conservative Brahmin family” consisting of H. S. Gopalakrishna and Nagalakshmi was the home of Sudha Rani. The family resided in the Bengaluru neighborhood of Malleswaram. She had aspirations of becoming a doctor. Prominent actor Chi. Udaya Shankar was her uncle.

She completed her schooling from St. Thomas school, in its Malleswaram and Seshadripura branches.
At the age of two and a half, Sudha Rani debuted on television in a commercial for Kwality cookies. In 1978, she made her stage debut in “Kiladi Kittu” as a young performer. Her debut film as a lead actress was “Anand” (1986) at an early age of 13.
In 1996, Sudha Rani wed Dr. Sanjay, an anesthesiologist from the United States. But in 1998, stating personal disagreements, they called it quits. She later got hitched to Govardhan in 2000, and the two had a daughter named Nidhi who was born in 2001.
