Since its inception in October 2023, War 2 has been characterized by its high-energy action sequences. Hrithik Roshan kicked off the filming in March 2024 with a dynamic action scene, followed by Jr NTR joining in April 2024 for a dramatic face-off scene set aboard an aircraft.

Now, the production is moving in a different direction as director Ayan Mukerji shifts focus to a romantic segment. According to a report from Mid-Day, starting from September 18, 2024, the crew will travel to Italy to shoot a romantic song composed by Pritam, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.

Although Mukerji and producer Aditya Chopra initially considered familiar Italian destinations like Venice and Lake Como, they have chosen to explore some lesser-known, untouched locations in the same regions for the shoot. The Italian schedule is expected to span about 15 days, with the first six days dedicated to capturing the grandeur of the romantic song. Mukerji aims to showcase the on-screen elegance of Hrithik and Kiara in this sequence.

The song, produced on an epic scale by Pritam, will be filmed in visually stunning spots such as Venice, Tuscany, Lake Como, Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and the Sorrento Peninsula. Following this, the team will move on to film a high-adrenaline action sequence and key dramatic moments before returning to India in early October.

The report also mentions that the filmmakers have been highly successful in preventing leaks of on-set images so far, and they intend to maintain this level of secrecy during the international schedule as well. An insider revealed that a local Italian security team has been hired to scout and secure the locations, ensuring no unauthorized photos are released during filming.

For those unfamiliar, War 2 is the sixth installment of Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe, following films like Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2023), and Tiger 3 (2023). This project also marks NTR Jr’s debut in Hindi cinema. According to an earlier report by Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra has pulled off an impressive casting achievement by bringing together two megastars from Hindi and Telugu cinema, making War 2 a truly pan-Indian venture.
