Abstract:
Set in post-World War II Japan, Grave of the Fireflies tells the story of 14-year-old Seita and her 4-year-old sister Setsuko, who find temporary solace in an abandoned bomb shelter as siblings seek refuge in the countryside tragically struggling to survive the loss of their parents in war. But as wealth dwindles, they face the harsh realities of war and the devastating effects it has on their lives.
