Krithi Shetty is a talented Indian actress primarily known for her work in Telugu cinema. She made her breakthrough with the hit movie Uppena, released in 2021, which earned her widespread recognition from both audiences and the film industry. Her outstanding debut performance earned her prestigious accolades, including a SIIMA Award and a South Filmfare Award.

Early Life:

Krithi Shetty was born on September 21, 2003, in Mumbai to Krishna and Neethi Shetty, who belong to a Tulu-speaking family from Mangalore, Karnataka. Her father is a businessman, while her mother works as a fashion designer. Krithi completed her schooling at Sadhu Vaswani International School for Girls in New Delhi and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi. During her school years, she participated in several ad campaigns for various brands. She speaks Hindi, English, and Tulu fluently and has also learned Telugu and Tamil to enhance her acting career.

Career:

Krithi made her first appearance in films with a small role in the Hindi movie Super 30 in 2019. However, it was in 2021, at the age of 17, that she landed her first major role as the lead actress in the Telugu film Uppena, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Sukumar Writings. The film became a huge commercial success, grossing over ₹100 crore at the box office. Her performance was well-received, earning her critical acclaim and a strong fan base. Following this success, she was quickly offered several roles in other Telugu films.

Her second film, Shyam Singha Roy (2021), saw her starring alongside Nani, a popular actor known as the “Natural Star.” Her performance in the film was praised, and the movie was a commercial success. This led to her decision to fully commit to a career in acting.

In 2022, Krithi appeared in the bilingual action drama The Warrior, directed by N. Lingusamy. While the film underperformed at the box office, the “Bullet” song featuring her became very popular, especially in Tamil cinema. She followed this up with roles in two more 2022 releases: Macherla Niyojakavargam, where she starred opposite Nithin, and Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, alongside Sudheer Babu.
