Nagpur is one of the key urban hubs in Maharashtra. Sometimes referred to as the “Orange City” of India, the city has been divided into several administrative zones by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for the sake of easy administration as well as proper service delivery. The zones list and what they do would make it much easier for locals and businesses alike to find what they need when it comes to municipal services.

Background of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC):

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation was constructed in the year 1951 and mainly looks after the development and maintenance of this civic infrastructure found within the city. NMC encompasses a good range of activities which include cleansing, waste, water supply and street lighting operations, public health and urban plans, and taxation with collection of all revenue to aid the services.

The NMC has divided Nagpur into ten administrative zones to govern the region more effectively and for localized administration. A specially earmarked office manages each zone and is answerable for operating it, solving grievances, and enforcing municipal policies in the region.
