Jack, directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and released on April 10, 2025, attempts to blend spy and comedy but becomes entangled in tonal ambiguity.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda plays Pablo Neruda, aka Jack, an odd wannabe RAW agent who volunteers for a freelance mission to avert a terror strike only to stumble upon the official unit.

What Functions?
On-screen Presence: He propels the film forward with his mesmerizing energy and delivery; most critics opine that the film lapses in many significant areas, but Siddhu Jonnalagadda is the only element that adds a pinch of sensibility and charm.
Comedy in the First Half: His comedy timing is good right from the beginning, with scenes such as tender moments between Jack and his father (Naresh) being effective.
Technical Notes: Aerial surveillance and pursuit sequences’ cinematography delivers the occasional adrenaline rush.
What Does Not Impress?
Weak Story & Pacing: The story is regarded as unoriginal and stodgy, as the high-stakes spy work on the one hand conflicts with the over-the-top humor on the other. Critics allege it becomes “dumber over time” and “a boring, old-fashioned spy thriller.”
Underwritten Characters: Vaishnavi Chaitanya is uncomfortable as an unwilling detective plot, with not a spark of chemistry with Siddhu. Even seasoned actor Prakash Raj has little to do.
Technical Problems: The graphics are good, but the second half of post-production is imbalanced, the background music is forgettable, and the VFX is subpar.
Reactions from the Audience
On Reddit, they are split. A fan wrote, “I grasped the hero’s feelings that motivated their actions.” Both Siddhu and Vaishnavi delivered strong performances.
Others panned the low quality of the production and the uneven direction.
Conclusion
Jack finally falls short—its intriguing premise is destroyed by an uneven tone, disjointed narrative, and neglected supporting cast. You’re stuck counting on Siddhu’s charm. If you’re a huge admirer of his offbeat lead, you might find some weak amusement in the first half. But for the rest of us looking for a solid spy thriller or a decent comedy, this is a weak and clumsy attempt.
