Early Life and Background

Salman Khan—whose birth name is Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan and who was born on 27 December 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh—is the eldest of screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma Khan (née Sushila Charak). He was raised in Mumbai with brothers Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, sister Alvira, and subsequently adopted Arpita by Salim and his second wife, Helen. Salman studied at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra and made a brief study at Elphinstone College before dropping out to become an actor.
