Early Years & Family Roots
Born in Columbia, Maryland, on August 26, 1986, Maggie Wolfendale comes from a line of horse trainers and riders. Her father, Howard Wolfendale, is a known Maryland-based stakes trainer, and her mother, Tammy, spent her young life on the go with horses. Also on her mom and dad’s side of the family were grandparents who worked in the equine world. Brought up around barns and tracks, Maggie was horse crazy from the day she was born. By age 16, she was riding at Laurel Park regularly.
Education & Into Broadcasting
Maggie attended Towson University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communications. Also, while in college, she kept up a routine of horse riding in the mornings, which paid for her tuition and also kept her tied to the racing world.
Training Credentials & Early Career
In 2010, she joined the New York Racing Association (NYRA) as a paddock analyst.

Become a NYRA Paddock Analyst and Broadcaster.
For over ten years, Maggie has been a mainstay of American race analysis. In programs like America’s Day at the Races and Saratoga Live on Fox Sports and NYRA, she puts forth in-depth reports of each horse’s physical condition, demeanour and state of readiness in the paddock, which in turn helps to inform both the casual viewer and the serious bettor which horses to pay attention to as post time approaches.
Her extensive notes, in which she writes out by hand pedigree info, past performance trends, and conformation notes, are a practice that is very much a point of pride in the industry. Also known for her transparency and no-nonsense approach in what she says. Also, she does some post-race interviews, which she does from the back of her off-track Thoroughbred.
Personal Life & Family
Grace (2016) and Willow (2020). The family run a daily life in the racing community where they also work; they also do Thoroughbred retraining and care.
Passions Beyond the Broadcast Booth
In addition to operating a home for former race horses, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and the Belmont Child Care Association, which Maggie supports in addition to her work in riding and training, we see a large part of Maggie’s off-track activity. Her focus on getting racehorses into second careers as dressage horses, trail ride partners or as pets is what defines Maggie outside of the ring.
She is also a fan of football (the Ravens), watches the Ryder Cup in golf, and family time is most important to her.
Age, Physical Profile & Estimated Earnings
As of 2025, Maggie will be 38 to 39 years old. In height, she is about 5’4” and is usually reported to have blonde hair and blue eyes, which stand out. As for her salary, that is private, but reports from racing analysts and paddock reporters who do business with NYRA and related networks say they make between $50K to $100K per year. As for her net worth, it is reported to be small and is mainly a result of her present work in broadcasting and horse training.

Legacy & Outlook
Maggie Wolfendale Morley is a unique combination of equestrian talent, broadcast professional, and passionate advocate. Her story from growing up in a Maryland barn as a child to national TV and trackside celebrity is that of a person who made a go of riding, training and communication in the same dedicated career. As a role model for women in sports media and horse racing, she is also a force that elevates the paddock analyst field and inspires with each of her broadcasts.
