Introduction

Mukhar Roy is known to be the younger brother of the famous Indian actress Mouni Roy, who has seen success in TV, film and international markets. His grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy, was a noted Jatra (Bengali folk theatre) artist, and also on his mother’s side, Mukti Roy, he had a background in stage performance. Also, his father, Anil Roy, was at the post of Chief of the Civil Services’ Board in Cooch Behar and was also a part of this creative setup, which made for a very balanced growth of the young Roy in terms of admin and art.

Mukhar was brought up in a very supportive environment, which fostered cultural growth and close family ties. He has a very warm relationship with his sister Mouni Roy, which includes sharing their childhood stories and the art heritage in which they grew up.

Education

Mukhar did his schooling in Cooch Behar, which had a Kendriya Vidyalaya. In terms of higher education and academic history, we do not have much that is public about him. It is known that he prefers a low-key life and hasn’t really put himself in the media spotlight.
